Chocolate Chip Meringue Drops
- 2 egg whites
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Separate eggs. Place the 2 egg whites in a medium size bowl. If the yolk breaks, discard the entire egg and start over. Egg whites will not whip if it contains any yolk.
- Beat egg whites, salt, cream of tartar, and sugar until the meringue holds stiff peaks.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Place 1 teaspoonful of meringue on the lined cookie sheets. Cookies have to be small (the size of a Hershey’s kiss).
- Bake at 300 degrees F for 25-30 minutes.
