Sun-Dried Tomato Mozzarella

2 cups flourbiscuits
1 Tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
½ tsp. Italian seasoning
½ tsp. garlic powder
1/2 cup shortening
¼ cup chopped drained sundried tomatoes packed in oil
1 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese
¾ cup milk
1 Tablespoon of melted butter
½ tsp. Italian seasoning

  1. Preheat Oven to 425°
  2. Measure flour, baking powder, salt, Italian seasoning and garlic powder into bowl.
  3. Cut in shortening with a pastry blender.
  4. Stir in the tomatoes, cheese and milk.
  5. Round up the dough and knead lightly 8 times on a floured pastry cloth.
  6. Roll with floured rolling pin until ½” thick.
  7. Cut with a floured biscuit cutter and place on ungreased baking sheet.
  8. Combine melted butter and ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning.
  9. Brush tops with seasoned butter.
  10. Bake 10- 12 minutes or until golden brown.
