8 soft or hard taco shells
1 pound of ground beef
½ cup finely chopped onion
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 Tablespoon chili powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ cup of water
1 tomato chopped
Lettuce chopped
Black olives-sliced
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Bottled taco sauce
In a skillet, cook meat, onion, and garlic until meat is thoroughly cooked. Drain off fat. Season meat with chili powder and salt. Stir in 1/4 cup of water. Simmer uncovered until thickened. Stuff each taco shell with some of the meat mixture, tomatoes, lettuce, black olives, cheese and taco sauce.
For Hard Taco Shells: arrange on a baking sheet. Preheat oven to 350°, bake for 5 minutes.
For Soft Taco Shells: arrange on a microwave safe plate. Cover with damp paper towels and microwave for 1 ½ minutes.
