We’ll be taking a bus, and also having dinner, arriving back at BHS around 6:30 p.m. We have room for a few more, so if you’re interested in joining us to select and buy new books for the BHS Library, you’re welcome to join us! Just stop by the Library for more information and a permission form! ~Mrs. Jerome
Coloring isn’t just for kids anymore! Check out the new display in the Library inspired by the hot new fad of coloring to relieve stress and promote relaxation in teens and adults! If you need a break from studying or just want to “color your way to calm” we’re happy to photocopy pages from the books on display and we have a supply of colored pencils at the circulation desk too!
Even the BHS Library was “coloring” today! We’re so fortunate to have such a beautiful Library!

Did you see the summer movie Paper Towns based on John Green’s book? Quentin is desperate to find Margo, the mysterious girl-next-door he’s in love with, and follows clues she’s left behind. His adventurous road trip from Florida to New York inspired the Library’s bulletin board! Did you have a favorite adventure this summer, on the road or right here at home? Grab a sticky & pen and share with everyone!
Senior Hayden Knight is Brunswick High School Library’s “Top Patron” in terms of the number of books checked out this year! Hayden is at the top of our circulation statistics having checked out 350 (and counting!) books since September! You can spot Hayden reading in the Library any day of the week.
Cam, Austin and Josh stopped by the Library to do an experiment for their Honors Biology class. They are testing various items around the school for bacteria. They swabbed one of the computer keyboards, and are letting the sample grow in a Petri dish. We’ll find out in a couple of days how much bacteria is on a computer keyboard in the Library!
UPDATE: The results are in from the AP Biology testing of bacteria around the school. As it turns out, quite a bit of bacteria was detected on a library keyboard. In fact, the keyboard had more bacteria than a stairwell railing, a bathroom pass and a water fountain handle! It’s good to know lots of students are using the library computers, and we’ll be sure to sanitize them! There are also 2 hand sanitizer dispensers in the Library, so please be sure to use them!
April is National Poetry Month and the Brunswick School District is celebrating by observing National “Poem in Your Pocket” Day being celebrated across the country on April 30th! Find a denim pocket displayed around the school, and pick a poem! Carry it with you to read, be inspired by, or share with others!
Author Erik Selberg, a 2007 graduate of Brunswick High School, will be visiting the BHS Library for a book signing and dedication of his new horror novel Talisman! Erik Selberg, who currently resides in Saratoga Springs, New York, will be here Friday, April 3rd, from noon to 12:45. If you are interested in writing or in horror, or would like to meet a published author, please try to stop by during the Author Visit!
