Best Sites & Databases for Research

 

  1. Do a GOOGLE SEARCH, adding helpful KEYWORDS such as STATISTICS, SURVEY or RESEARCH. Look for organizations and studies around your topic. Put any websites you find to the CRAAP Test and look at Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, and Purpose!

Tip: Look for .org and .edu and .gov websites to find more reliable information and check the DATES of websites, research, and surveys. 

Tip: Check the DATES to make sure you have the latest information!

 

2. Google News: AFTER you have done a Google search, click on the Google NEWS tab to access over 50,000 NEWS outlets around the world, with current and more reliable information from newspapers and magazines! 

Tip: Click on TOOLS then change Past Month to Past Year for current results from newspapers, magazines, and other news sources from the past 12 months!

 

3. Health-Related Research Websites: Check out this professional Health-related Websites for Research and Statistics:

MedlinePlus, one of the most accurate and up-to-date health-related websites. It’s provided by the National Library of Medicine, the largest medical library in the world.

 

4. Research Databases: Check out the Gale Database Opposing Viewpoints on the Databases page. (The databases are in alphabetical order and the password from home is 04011). Search for your issue and scroll down to find statistics, news and research articles. (The citations are also done for you…click on CITE at the top of articles.)
