The 21 Best YA Books of 2013!

Click on the picture to read all about 21 YA books chosen as the best of 2013! I read The Beginning of Everything over vacation and LOVED it! It reminded me of The Fault in Our Stars for having quirky main characters who fall in love while facing personal tragedies. As you may have guessed, it also doesn’t have the happiest ending, but what a great book! The 5th Wave, about an alien invasion where most of the world’s population is wiped out in 5 waves of devastating attacks, is also fantastic! Book Club is reading Eleanor and Park as the February book choice. It’s about two high school students who fall in love for the first time, though Eleanor is hiding a secret that keeps her from ever inviting Park to her house. Allegiant is also on this list and I finally got to finish it over break. It’s really good, with a shocker at the end, but like a lot of people, I didn’t care for the chapters alternating between Tris and Tobias. Many more on the list look so good!  We have most of these books in the BHS Library, but let us know if there is one you’d like to read that we don’t have and we’ll be sure to order it! Happy Reading in 2014! ~Mrs. Jerome
