I Like Girls With Simple Tastes was published in the June 27, 1936 issue of the Saturday Evening Post. The article was in response to an earlier Saturday Evening Post article called I Like Men With Money and gives insight into Roberts’ personality: “As I grow older and more crotchety, and find myself becoming more and more intolerant of persons incapable of thinking straight, talking sensibly or behaving normally.” (Both covers and dates are shown below) (16)

An anonymous article I Like Men With Money appeared on page 20+ of this May 9, 1936 issue. Roberts’ wrote his famous reply in the June 27, 1936 issue below. (17)
