9/3-4: students received the Letter to Parents / Behavior Contract and Classroom Grading System to take home and share with their parents/guardians; we completed a US History Scattergories activity in class; complete Who Am I Poster Guidelines for next class (here’s a copy of my example: Who Am I? 2014)
9/5-8: we completed Early Native Americans Notes Sheets using the Early Native Americans Keynote Presentation; complete the Early Native Americans – Who Would You Live With writing assignment for next class
9/9-10: students worked in groups to create presentations about the exploration of North America; as students made their presentations, the others wrote notes in the Explorers Keynote Empty; this information was all based on Explorers Keynote Base; homework is to complete Three French Explorers and Explorations of the USA’s South and Southwest worksheets (both of these need to be picked up from class crate)
9/11-12: we read the Roanoke and Jamestown Reading and completed the Roanoke and Jamestown Reading Questions; complete the 13 Colonies Map Activity by labeling and coloring the 13 colonies no labels map, using the 13 colonies labeled map
9/15 (Orange Day): we reviewed the Roanoke reading completed as homework; we worked in groups of 2-3 to complete the Pilgrim Facts Incorrect Statements using the information in the Pilgrim Facts reading
9/16-17: Assisted Study Hall day: we worked in class on completing any necessary work; see Assisted Study Hall Guidelines; homework is to read the Found & Lost packet and complete the America Found and Lost questions
9/18: (Black Day): we reviewed the Roanoke reading completed as homework; we worked in groups of 2-3 to complete the Pilgrim Facts Incorrect Statements using the information in the Pilgrim Facts reading
9/19-22: complete Northern Colonies Notes Sheet Part 1 and Northern Colonies Notes Sheet Part 2 using Northern Colonies Presentation Part 1 and Northern Colonies Presentation Part 2; complete Study List for first quiz for next class
9/23-24: we completed our Unit 1 Content Quiz in class; we completed the Middle Colonies Questions using the The Middle Colonies reading packet; homework was to complete Southern Colonies reading and questions
9/25-26: we completed several worksheets and notes about the French & Indian War, all of which are photocopies that need to be picked up from the class crate; homework was to complete Highlights of the French & Indian War worksheet
9/29: we completed the Colonial Economy Notes Sheet using the Colonial Economy Presentation; homework was to complete the Make Your Own Test Template using the PrepUS Make Your Own Test Guidelines
9/30-10/1: Assisted Study Hall day
10/2: we completed the Colonial Economy Notes Sheet using the Colonial Economy Presentation; homework was to complete the Make Your Own Test Template using the PrepUS Make Your Own Test Guidelines
10/3 & 6: we used the computers in class to type a rough draft of the Make Your Own Test Template hand written out as homework due today; homework for next class is to print out the test, hand write in the answers, and then ask someone to proofread this copy, making notations on the test with their suggestions and signing it (so I know who your proofreader was)
10/7-8: we used the computers in class to type a final draft of our tests using the proofreading suggestions that were gathered as homework due today; all THREE copies of the test are due next class: a hand-written copy on the Make Your Own Test Template, a typed, proofread exam with editing marks, and a typed final copy – ALL THREE COPIES MUST HAVE THE ANSWERS HAND-WRITTEN IN
10/9-14: we took the 20-question multiple-choice quiz that goes with the Make Your Own Test project; we used the class period to either put the finishing touches on the test or to work on the homework: Don’t Know Much About History – American Revolution – Reading
10/15: PSATs (no class)
10/16-17: corrected MYOTests were handed back; we completed Road to Revolution Notes Sheet using the Road to Revolution Presentation; homework is to complete the Tales of Two Adamses Reading and Questions
10/20-21: we used the DOI Presentation to complete the DOI Notes Sheet; homework was to complete The War for Independence Reading Part 1 and to have a parent or guardian sign the Patriot Permission Slip
10/22-23: we started watching The Patriot and completing The Patriot Movie Questions; homework was to complete The War for Independence Reading Part 2
10/24-27: we reviewed information from our unit so far by completing the Road to Revolution IDs Matching; we continued watching The Patriot and filling out the movie questions; homework was to complete The War for Independence Continues and study the matching we completed for a quiz next class
10/28-29: we put the quiz off until Thursday; we finished watching The Patriot; homework was to study for our content quiz and to organize all the 1st quarter work using the 1st Quarter Portfolio Directions
10/30-31: we took our Unit 2 Content Quiz in class and used the remainder of the period as our Assisted Study Hall, finishing and redoing work from this unit; homework was to being preparing for next week’s unit exam using the Amer Rev Study Guide Project Option
