Fourth graders in Mr. Dwyer and Mrs. Viola’s classes learned that while Georgia O’Keeffe was famous for her paintings of enlarged flowers, she also loved to paint landscapes. One of her favorite places in the world was upstate New York, and she said it was so pretty there that is almost seemed fake. We looked at many of her paintings, and re-created our own landscapes that utilized foreground, middleground, and background.
