  1. No mixing colors
  2. Wash brush thoroughly when switching colors
  3. No overlapping different colors
  4. Apply 3 solid, even coats of glaze
  5. Stir or CAREFULLY shake glaze to mix it up before you use it (check lid first, and hold it on with both hands)

2.  Glaze bobblehead and base – you will be graded on the following: correctly following the glaze rules, neatness, using different colors to emphasize details

  2. choose an object that will inspire your pattern,
  3. create a not-so-obvious pattern that will fill the space with “carveable” shapes, draw it carefully,
  4. go over your lines HEAVILY with a #2 pencil
  5. cut out rectangle
  6. “print” pencil drawing onto linoleum

3.  Once ALL landscape layers are created, and your work meets the checklist requirements, then begin gluing down the sky and popping up all other layers.

1.  Next drawing technique: Still-life drawing from observation.  Choose 2-3 objects from the still-life buffet, arrange them on your placemat so they overlap (not all side by side), Start carefully drawing the object that is closest to you by looking for its contour lines and slowly sketching them, editing and making corrections as you go.  You should look at the object more than you look at your drawing.  This type of drawing requires complete concentration; talking will distract your brain from its task.  We will have a quiet work day!
