How to ask ‘good’ questions in class.
Daily review of your class notes and keeping on top of your assignments will provide the confidence to ask ‘good’ questions. While it is often difficult to muster the courage to ask a question in class, it is important that you seek immediate clarification on a point presented by a teacher so that you can make sense of it in your notes.
Courtesy dictates that you raise your hand before asking a question in order to give the teacher an opportunity to pause and call on you. Class discussions initiated by thoughtful questions allow others to share their understanding or interpretation of the topics under investigation. Further, the more attentive you have been with your note-taking and note-making the more likely you will benefit from other student’s questions as well as being more able to join in the class discussion.
