Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a restful and rejuvenating vacation. I had a great time visiting with family in Williamsburg, Virginia for the week  but I am happy to be home and anxious to jump into 2012!

Just a few reminders for students and parents:

• There is Jazz rehearsal Tuesday morning (Jan. 3)! We don’t have many rehearsals left before the District Jazz Festival on February 14!!!
• The 7th & 8th Grade Band Concert is Tuesday, January 10! (That’s next week!) Now would be a good time to dig out concert clothes to make sure everything still fits! Most of you have grown quite a bit taller since out last concert!!!! FYI- The concert begins at 7:00 PM in the BJH Gymnasium. Students need to be in the band room to warm-up by 6:40. The concert will be about 40 minutes long.
• There is an important Music Boosters meeting for parents on Wednesday, Jan. 11. This will be the initial planning meeting for our next big fundraiser: The Annual Carnival of Music. The meeting begins at 6:30 and is very informal. Come when you can and leave when you need to 🙂
• Tuesday (our first day back from vacation) will be a Day 3 in the rotation. That means band for Grades 6 & 8! Be sure to have your instruments and music!!!!
