Now that you have had an opportunity to gain further insight into the novel you are to compose an expository essay over the essential theme of Station Eleven. You are to use passages from the novel along with the page number in parenthesis where the passage was located in the book as evidence for your expressed claims. You may use evidence/quotes from other resources, but this condition is not required. Remember that the thesis statement is your most vital statement in that the sentence demonstrates to your reader the focus of your discussion throughout the composition.
The essay prompt: Discuss the reader’s most essential understanding of the novel Station Eleven.
The essay, along with all compositions in English, will apply MLA standards. There is no word count or page standard for the essay, however, you will do well to remember that a thoroughly structured body paragraph in an expository essay provides at least three supporting perspectives for your topic sentence.
The essay is due on DAY 7 of the syllabus.
