Welcome Back to School!!

Welcome back to another exciting school year at Brunswick Junior High! I am especially excited for the many musical opportunities we will share this year!

Since things will be VERY busy and hectic for the first couple of days, I just wanted to take a minute to remind everyone that:

Tuesday, September 2 (the first day of school for everyone) will not be a “regular day” in the rotation. The first REAL day that we will follow schedules is Wednesday. That will be a Day 1 in the rotation. That means a “band day” for 7th and 8th graders! Be sure to have your instruments (and necessary supplies: reeds, valve oil, etc…). We will be playing during our first class together!!

Sixth Grade Band Students do NOT need to bring instruments to school Tuesday or Wednesday (9/2 or 9/3) BUT YOU WILL NEED YOUR INSTRUMENT on Thursday, 9/4, which will be Day 2 in your schedule rotation. (Don’t worry if you’re confused about the schedule rotation. It will ALL MAKE SENSE to you after the first day or so of school!! Really!!!!)

For those interested in participating in Jazz Band and/or Wind Ensemble, sign up sheets are up on the band room door! I hope to begin rehearsals the week of September 8!

For those interested in auditioning for MMEA District III 7th & 8th Grade Honors Band or MMEA District III 6th Grade Honors Band, please check the website for updates for those audition pieces. There have been a few “technical glitches” this summer so some of the website pages are not updated yet…but will be soon!! 🙂

Parents: you’ll be receiving more information about the program and the BJH Music Boosters via email in the next week or so! If you’re new to the program, I am looking forward to meeting you!
