Student Writing Prompt #3

In chapter 6, Jem expresses to Scout:

“Scout, I’m tellin’ you for the last time, shut your trap or go home—I declare to the Lord you’re gettin’ more like a girl every day!” With that, I had no option but to join them.

The scene underscores one of the themes in To Kill a Mockingbird.  Consider the novel, any other literature as well as programming where the role of females is similarly portrayed.  How significantly have women been excluded from decision-making in modern society?  Is the discrimination a reflection of the natural order?  How important is this injustice compared to the inhumane treatment suffered by other notable minorities?

The natural order is defined as the orderly system comprising the physical universe and functioning according to natural as distinguished from human or supernatural laws.  AND The order presumed to be present in the constitution of matter and the operation of forces in nature and society.
