Reading Journal/Annotation

Students are encouraged to keep a reading journal as they read Life of PiContributing characters, setting, plot development, point-of-view, philosophy and theme will be points of emphasis during class discussions.  The recommended practice of maintaining a reading journal in the high school English department is annotation.

Your reading journal does not have to follow a prescribed format.  The journals will no doubt prove valuable as we discuss the novel and for use with the complimentary assignments.  The book that has been provided for you is yours to keep.  You may choose to annotate in your book.  You are required to annotate at least one development on each page.  You may either highlight or note the development.
