Final Exam Experience

Your final exam experience requires you to record the systemic discrimination information that you and your group have produced.  Your assessment for this effort will include:
1.  The quality of your written piece featured in the presentation
2.  Your use of class time and your ability to problem solve with members of your group leading up to the presentation.
3.  Your ability to feature the rhetorical elements (ethos, pathos, logos) throughout your presentation.

This final experience is valued as 10% of your semester 2 grade.  Consequently, the presentation must justify the standards that have been emphasized during the second semester.  These standards include both academic and cognitive challenges.  The academic challenges include:
1.  Writing ability
2.  Use of effective language skills
3.  Understanding of rhetoric (the art of persuasion)
4.  Appropriate and productive use of class time.

The cognitive challenges include:
1.  Your ability to apply, synthesize (formulating the whole through breaking down pieces), analyze, and evaluate.
2.  Making meaningful decisions for the prosperity of the entire group at the expense of the individual need.
3.  Maintaining the focus of your decision making on your viewing audience (an audience of your peers).

The center piece of your presentation will be the individual rhetorical writing assignment that is required of each individual in your group. Your essay, poem, interview, or short story will be filmed as a  three-five minute rhetorical talk relative to your group’s topic.  The perspective that you take is entirely up to you provided that your approach is responsible and credible.  While the talk will be orchestrated with your group presentation, this aspect of your effort will be entirely individual.  You are also required on DAY 4 of the class syllabus to submit the writing assignment into Turnitin.

A Breakdown of your Presentation:
1.  Use the Essays, Selected  Poetry, and Other References as the source of information for your presentation.  Your group will have to discuss what the rhetorical perspective of your presentation will entail and organize the presentation accordingly.
2.  Arrange any or all of the following:  pictures, videos, musical accompaniment to enhance the rhetorical element of your digital presentation.
3.  Film your individual talk and consider where in your presentation the talk will be most effectively displayed.
4.  Ensure that each member of your group comprehends the rhetorical scheme of your presentation.  Incorporating the rhetorical terms in your scheme will enhance your presentation as well as being helpful for preparing for your final exam.
5.  Effective use of class time provided for planning.
