High School Abroad

AFS : Offers two week, summer long, semester long, and year long programs all around the world for high school students interested in exploring their world while staying on an academic track. 


 

Alzar School: Offers high school semester programs in Idaho, that include a month long trip to Chile (aimed at sophomores and juniors).


 

Coastal Studies For Girls: A high school semester school in Maine (Wolfe’s Neck), aimed at female high school sophomores and provides leadership and high scientific focus.


 

Experiment in International Living: Offers many summer abroad programs for high school students, with focuses such as culture, civil rights, community service, language, and environment. 


 

Oxbow School: A semester-long high school experience located in Napa, California, with a very high focus on art. 


 

Hurricane Island Outward Bound School: Offers two week and semester long programs for high school and college students, mostly outdoor based; some even in Maine!


 

Island School: A high school semester program in the Bahamas, with a focus on physical activity and scientific application in the real world, as well as standard high school curriculum.


 

Mountain School: Accepts 45 students per semester, 11th graders spend a semester in Vermont learning about the farm on campus and how it works. The Mountain School is academically focused with all AP and honors classes. 


 

School Year Abroad: Offers year and summer abroad programs for high school juniors and seniors in Italy, France, Spain, and China. Host family program is centered in larger cities in said countries for more broad experiences.


 

Maine Coast Semester: A semester school in Chewonki, Maine, which offers lots of outdoor experiences and farm work involved to promote real applications for traditionally textbook based knowledge.
