Wednesday- EmpowerME testing in the morning and Conclude Seed Germination Lab report.
Thursday- Archeology Fair
Friday-  EmpowerME testing in the morning and introduce Science Exhibit.

We are close to concluding our Life Cycle of a Seed Plant Unit with the Seed Germination Lab.

Monday- Germination Lab, and Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration

Wednesday- Germination Lab Report
Thursday- EmpowerME testing in the morning and Germination Lab Report

We continue with the Life cycle of a Seed Plant unit this week and SASSMM comes to all Science classes on Tuesday.

Friday-  Germination Lab and Parts of a Seed and Life Cycle of Seed Plant QUIZ

We continue with our introduction with our new unit.  Next week students will begin a long-term lab germinating four different types of seeds.

Monday- Conclude Dicot Seed Lab.
Tuesday- SNOW DAY!  No school.
Wednesday- Vascular and Non-Vascular Plants; Angiosperms and Gymnosperms and Life Cycle of a Seed Plant.
Thursday- “How Plants Make Food” activity.
Friday- Students- NO SCHOOL.  Staff Professional Day.

This week we wrap up our Paper Helicopter Labs and lab reports and begin our Life Cycle of a Seed Plant Unit.

Monday- Weight and Paper Helicopter Landing lab.
Tuesday- Complete the Weight and Paper Helicopter Landing lab.
Wednesday- Life Cycle of a Seed Plant Pre-Assessment and introduction to the Plant Kingdom.  Intro to Dissecting a Dicot Seed Lab and connection to Paper Helicopters.
Thursday- Complete Dicot Seed Lab.  Vascular and Non-vascular Plants; Angiosperms and Gymnosperms and Life Cycle of a Seed Plant.
Friday- Continuation of Life Cycle of a Seed Plant.

I hope you enjoyed your February Break and are ready to get back to work!  We begin our Life Cycle of a Seed Plant Unit the end of this week, which also means a return to our Aquaponics study.

Monday- Paper Helicopter Lab Report write up.
Tuesday– Complete Lab Report and design paper helicopter with a longer hang time compared to the helicopter from the lab.
Wednesday- Students compete with their paper helicopter to determine the student that designed the helicopter with the longest hang time.
Thursday- Complete hang time competition and begin the next experiment and lab report: The Effect of Weight on a Paper Helicopter’s landing in a consistent spot.
Friday- Continue Weight and Paper Helicopter’s Landing lab.

We continue with our flight mini-unit and hopefully will begin our Life Cycle of a Seed Plant Unit the end of this week, which also means a return to our Aquaponics study.  Don’t forget next week is February Break, which mean NO SCHOOL!

This week we work on a flight mini-unit, connecting helicopters to maple seeds. On Wednesday, SASSMM- Sexual Assault Support Services of Midcoast Maine, presents.

Monday- Flight- Engineering Design Process mini-unit begins with Flight notes/research.
Tuesday-  Flight Lab. Paper Helicopter Lab for 2017.
Wednesday- SASSMM presents in all Science classes. Cancelled due to late start.
Thursday- Flight Lab. Paper Helicopter Template. SNOW DAY- No School!
Friday- Flight Lab Report. Paper Helicopter Template.

We will be starting an Engineering mini-unit of study the end of this week, “Flight as related to a Maple Tree Seed”.  The Flight unit will be an introduction into The Lifecycle of a Seed Plant Unit and our return to Aquaponics.

Monday- Cells and Microscopes viewing prepared slides.
Tuesday- Cells and Microscopes- prepared slides and complete any labs not finished the past week.
Wednesday- Conclude Cells and Microscopes.
Thursday- Flight- Engineering Design Process mini-unit

This week is the start of Quarter 3!  Report cards will go home this Friday.  Students continue their work with Cells and Microscopes.

Students will be working on a lab all week, where they will be preparing various slides and observing what they see with the use of a Compound Microscope.  They will be viewing Plant and Animal Cells.

Monday- Plant and Animal Cells (and Letter e Lab) review.  
Tuesday- Onion Cell Lab. SNOW DAY- no school.
Wednesday- Onion Cell Lab.
Thursday- Elodea Leaves and Salt Water Lab.
Friday- Cheek Cell Lab and various prepared slides.
Monday (next week)- Conclude all labs from this week and in turn conclude Cells and Microscopes.
