Good morning Coffin Community,
This is Mr. Ciembroniewicz and I’d like your attention for one minute on this Monday morning as I share a few thoughts with you to start our week together.
Last week we talked about our Coffin value of safety. This week I’d like to share some thoughts on kindness.
Here’s a quotation from a famous poet named William Wordsworth: “That best portion of a good [person’s] life: [the] little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.” Two things stand out for me – first, what an important role that kindness can play in each of our lives; second, the idea of “little and nameless” acts of kindness. Have you ever done something kind for someone and they didn’t even know it? If so, you know what a joy it can bring to the other person, as well as to you.
This week I challenge all of us, myself included, to practice some “little and nameless” acts of kindness.
– Maybe it’s that extra smile you share with someone who you think needs one
– Maybe it’s doing that little extra favor for someone just to help them out
– Maybe it’s taking those few extra minutes to really try and understand how someone else might be seeing the world
– Have fun with this
It makes me proud to see all the kindnesses and enthusiasm that each of you bring to Coffin School. As Baxter Bear would say, be kind, be gentle, be safe – and, do good work.
Have a great week.
