This year third graders will be learning about our country. I have divided the country into four parts (regions). Students will be asked to memorize the names,postal abbreviations and capitals of the states in a given region:
1st region – Northeastern states
2nd region – Southern states
3rd region– Midwestern states
4th region – Western states
Your child will be bringing home practice sheets every 8-10 weeks throughout the school year. I am asking that you practice the state names and locations along with the capitals with your child. The class will also be practicing at school. Enjoy this geography exploration and thanks for your support at home!
