Honors Pre-Calculus

                           HONORS PRECALCULUS 2016

Congratulations on selecting Honors Pre-Calculus. This is a challenging math class designed to prepare you for AP Calculus next year.

Honors classes incorporate weighted grades in calculating your class rank. The Honors designation therefore requires more time and effort from you as a student.

You will be expected check all answers to odd numbered problems. You should see me with questions before class if possible.

You need to have a graphing calculator. They are a limited number of calculators available for check out from the library.

On homework assignments, you are expected to show all work in a clear, organized fashion. This includes writing the problem. I would recommend writing the section number, the problem numbers and date on each assignment.

On assessments, I give as much partial credit as possible, and can only do this if I can follow your work, so please be as neat as possible.

Assessments will be timed. If you feel that you need more time, simply write a note on top of your paper, and make arrangements with me to finish the assessment.

You may retake any test, provided you have completed the “Request to Retest” form and associated work. Any make-up must be done within one week from the initial  test.

Homework will be checked daily for completeness, and graded with a 1 or a 0. Late homework will not be accepted.

I am here by 7:00 AM every day, and am also available after school. Please see me if you need extra help or have any questions or concerns. You can also email me at:   cporter@brunswick.k12.me.us.

I’m looking forward to a challenging and productive year.
