Summer Garden Volunteering

For volunteering in our garden during the summer, please, sign up at the link

Thanks to our Go Green members and other students,  our garden has potatoes, carrots, spinach, kale, Swiss chard, tomatoes, peppers, beans, asparagus, strawberries, beautiful flowers, and herbs. The fall harvest will be served in the school cafeteria and harvests over the summer can be eaten by you or donated to the Mid-Coast Hunger Prevention Program.
In order to keep it going we need SUMMER VOLUNTEERS! No experience needed! You can commit any week  to one visit (about two hours), 3 times that week, or more. The time of visits can be adjusted to fit your schedule and to the schedule of that week’s garden coordinator.
*  Parents – We could use  some help this summer keeping this garden growing! – Please sign up!
*  6th Graders – Come check this out!
*  7th Graders – Come keep this going!
*  8th Graders – You can earn up to 10 hours of community service towards high school graduation just by spending some time outdoors!  We would love to work with you to do nice things for BJHS!!

Growing season 2019 is here!

The long-awaited spring arrived and the Garden of Eatin is waking up. Did you notice the splash of color from the tulips, daffodils and hyacinths that we have planted? We also started a variety of seedlings in room 108 and the peas in the tall bed are coming up. Check them out!

Go Green will be selling seeds in the Teachers’ room, starting this Monday, May 6. We’ll have a big sale in the lobby on Thursday, May 9th.

The dates of the our meetings in May are: 9, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30. We will meet in room 108 or in the garden depending on the weather. Everyone is invited. Please, have your ride ready for 4:45 pm.
