Well, here’s one person’s thoughts. Is Algebra Necessary – NYTimes 2012 The author, Andrew Hacker, is an emeritus (retired) professor of political science at Queens College, City University of New York.

Pretty interesting stuff.
But then, what about this??? Yes, algebra is necessary (July 2012) It was written by a professor and director of graduate studies in psychology at the University of Virginia.
Then came this response, written and published in the Washington Post: No, algebra isn’t necessary (August 2012) The author here is a cognitive scientist, artificial intelligence theorist, and education reformer. He has taught at Stanford and Yale Universities.
Never mind these guys … what do YOU think??? What do your parents/guardians, or grandparents think????
