Resources

Learning is not confined to a classroom. I invite you to work with me as a team to support your child’s learning while at home. The resources on this page are designed to support you and your child in the important learning and work you do at home. If you have any questions about any of these resources, or would like to request additional support and/or resources, please contact me via email or phone. I look forward to working with you!

Many of these resources are active links. Simply click on the name/title of a resource to go directly to the necessary web page or to access the PDF form of the document.

Word Work Resources

Making Words – directions and blank response sheet

This activity is sent home approximately every two weeks, and is designed to reinforce and strengthen the word study and spelling skills the students are working on at school. Completed assignments are due back one week after they are sent home.

Reading Resources

“When You’re Done, You’ve Just Begun!” (print resource)

Reading involves understanding what we read (comprehension), being able to read the words correctly (accuracy), and being able to reading smoothly and with expression (fluency). One of the best ways we can support children in strengthening their comprehension is to have conversations with them about what they are reading. This resource has a list of different questions that can get the comprehension conversation started!

Raz-Kids (website)

This online resource gives our students access to hundreds of eBooks. Students can read, listen to, and even self-record reading these books. The best part? I am able to design a customized library for each child, giving each child access to a library of books that are all a “good fit” for him or her! Students can check their comprehension by taking quizzes for each book read. Each activity earns stars, which students can use to decorate their avatar robot and rocket ship.

One of the best things about IXL is that your child can access it from home, so have a chance to see your child’s progress and support them in their math development!!
