About Me

Hello!  My name is Susan Priest and this year I begin my 37th year of teaching. I graduated from the University of Maine in Farmington in 1980.  I am certified to teach regular education students K-8 and special education students K-12.  In 2008 I earned my Masters of Science in Education from the University of New England. I am a certified “Highly Qualified Teacher.”
I began in 1980 as a special education teacher in Mechanic Falls, Maine.  I worked with students from grades K-6.  I then transitioned to a pre-school in Brunswick and was there for 20 years.  I have been back in public school since 2002.
I am the mother of two grown sons.  Scott, my oldest son graduated from Bates college in 2006 and is working in the Boston area as an editor for a small technology based company.  My younger son, Bobby, graduated from UMF in 2011 with a degree in psychology.  He is the Youth and Family  Director for the YMCA in Bath.
I live in Brunswick and enjoy handbell ringing, cooking, and watching sports but teaching is my passion!
