Monday, 1/26-Thursday, 1/29: we got our new seating assignments for the 3rd quarter; we reviewed our 2nd quarter progress reports; we reviewed the subjective questions from the midterm exam; we used our 1st and 2nd quarter progress reports to calculate grades and set goals, using the 2nd Semester Goal Sheet – a parent must sign this and it must be returned next class; we went over some current events; we reviewed essay writing and homework was to complete the Essay Writing Handout

Tuesday, 2/3: we handed in the goals sheet completed last class, the Elizabeth reading assigned after the midterm, and the thesis statement and outline assigned last class; we worked on a group activity that reviewed terms from the Elizabeth reading; we covered some current events from the past week

Wednesday, 2/4: we discussed some current events; we handed in the goals sheet completed last class, the Elizabeth reading assigned after the midterm, and the thesis statement and outline assigned last class; we worked on a group activity that reviewed terms from the Elizabeth reading; we worked in groups to complete the English Absolutism History As Mystery activity using the English Absolutism Handout to collect data from the English Absolutism Stations Clues; homework is to complete the Spanish Absolutism reading and researching assignment

Friday, 2/6-Monday, 2/9: we reviewed the Spanish Absolutism reading and researching assignment and Mrs. Wagner clarified what the expectations were; we were given the remainder of class to rework that assignment and/or work on the assignments due next class: complete the Central European Absolutism reading and the Europe After Westphalia Map Activity, using the Europe After Westphalia Labeled Map to label the Europe After the Peace of Westphalia Blank Map (the Europe 1650 map is a color map that might be helpful as well)

Tuesday, 2/10-Wednesday, 2/11: we used the CEur I Have Game Cards to review the information from the Central European Absolutism reading homework; we discussed some current events; we took some notes using the Russian Absolutism Presentation; homework is to complete the Louis XIV Reading and Questions and study the Europe After Westphalia Labeled Map for a quiz next time

Thursday, 2/12 (Black Day): we took our map quiz over the Europe After Westphalia Labeled Map; we discussed some current events; we took notes using the Early French Absolutism Presentation; we reviewed the Louis XIV Reading and Questions we completed as homework; homework is to prepare for a quiz using the Absolutism Quiz Study Guide (we’ll take it the Wednesday after break )

Friday, 2/13 (Orange Day – Winter Carnival – 25 minute class): we took our Europe After Westphalia map quiz

Wednesday, 2/25 (Black Day): we studied for and took our Unit 5 Content Quiz; homework was to begin preparing for our exam using the Absolutism Study Guide & Project Option

Thursday, 3/5-Friday, 3/6: we reviewed our corrected Unit 5 Absolutism exams; we discussed some current events; we discussed the Enlightenment Presentation and took some notes; we worked in groups to complete the Enlightenment Perspectives of The Shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson activity; homework was to complete the Scientific Revolution Ads activity and read and annotate The American Revolution reading

Monday, 3/9-Tuesday, 3-10: we discussed some current events; we reviewed some examples from the Enlightenment Perspectives of The Shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson activity we did in small groups last class; we discussed the The American Revolution Presentation which included listening to an NPR interview; homework is to complete the Ch 18-1 Pre-Revolution France Questions

Wednesday, 3/11-Thursday, 3/12: we reviewed some information from the Ch 18-1 Pre-Revolution France Questions completed as homework;  we did a whole group activity that illustrated the differences between the Three Estates in pre-Revolutionary France; we began watching a video on the French Revolution and completed the associated questions on the History Channel The French Revolution Questions; homework was to complete the Ch 18-2 French Revolution Questions

Monday, 3/16-Tuesday, 3/17: we completed the video on the French Revolution; homework was to use the Content Quiz Study List to prepare for a quiz next class

Wednesday, 3/18-Thursday, 3/19: assisted study hall day; study for quiz for next class

Friday, 3/20-Monday, 3/23: we took our content quiz; we finished watching the video on the French Revolution; homework is to complete Ch 18 IDs #3 – The Radical Revolution

Tuesday, 3/24-Wednesday, 3/25: we completed the French Revolution Fill-In in pairs in class; we discussed the Napoleon Presentation; homework is to complete the Europe in the Time of Napoleon Map Locations using the Napoleon’s Empire 1810 map and the War in Europe 1805-1813 map, and also read and answer the questions to The Congress of Vienna reading

Thursday, 3/26: we completed the Europe in the Time of Napoleon map quiz; we discussed the Napoleon Presentation using the Napoleon Presentation Base; use the Napoleon Readings to complete the Napoleon – Hero or Tyrant activity; homework is to start preparing for our exam using the Unit 6 Study Guide Project Option
