Homework Expectations

Students will be required to hand in papers that are neat and have a proper heading. The format follows:

Homework is usually reinforcement, or practice for a concept or skill previously learned in class. Less often, homework is assigned as an introductory activity for a new concept or skill. Several assignments each month may be designed to encourage parent/child interaction.

Written homework is usually assigned four times each week, Monday through Thursday.

Daily homework will usually take no longer than one-half hour to an hour to complete.  Daily reading consists of 20 minutes of homework each night.  If your child is consistently taking longer to complete homework, please contact me and I will be sure to give your child extra help.

Homework that is handed in late or without a name is reduced in grade by 10 points except under special circumstances such as an illness or emergency. It is the student’s responsibility to get any missed work.  All homework must have the correct heading according to my current classroom procedures.

If homework is not complete, and I have not received a note from you, my policy is “No homework, no recess.”
