About Me:

El Capitan, Yosemite National Park

My puppy, Tuukka, on my wedding day.

After completing my student teaching in New York City and graduating with my B.S. in Adolescent Education and Chemistry, I moved to Maine on a whim. I taught several science courses at Old Orchard Beach High School for three years.  Since moving to Brunswick, I decided to look for something closer to home and I am excited to get started at Brunswick High School!

I have spent the past few years developing curricula that is aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards and incorporates features of proficiency-based education.  My teaching style emphasizes experiments, collaboration, problem-solving, technology, projects, real-world applications and making learning fun!  I am excited and passionate about teaching science to high school students so I try my best to make learning relevant and interesting.  If there is anything I can do to support your learning, please let me know!  I hope that I can share my love of science with you and help you better understand how our world works.

When I am not at work I enjoy eating, reading, traveling, playing with my puppy, binge watching entire TV series in one day and being with family and friends.  Elephants are my favorite animal and teal is my favorite color.

My husband, Toby and me.
