DIRECTOR OF STUDENT SERVICES

The Brunswick School Department requests applications from experienced educators with building and central office experience. Extensive knowledge of special education programming and law; Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973; grant writing and supervision of state and federal grants; alternative education; pupil support services; Response to Intervention; facilitating School Board Committees; teacher evaluation; and personnel development and monitoring. Strong leadership qualities are necessary to be successful as well as sound decision-making practices. An ability and comfort for being in charge of the district when the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent are not there is expected as well as a strong and pervasive sense of humor. Special Education Director certification is required. Assistant Superintendent certification in addition will be considered valuable.   Position will start August 3, 2015.

SPEECH THERAPIST/SPECIAL EDUCATION DEPARTMENT HEAD
at BRUNSWICK JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

Seeking a certified speech pathologist to serve children in grades 6-8.  This position will also serve as the Department Head for Special Education.  Appropriate certification as a speech pathologist in the State of Maine and CHRC are required.  Experience in middle level education, managing special education IEP meetings, and supervision/evaluation of staff is highly preferred. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
